Gabriela C. is helping shape the future of embedded software at Cummins—bringing together global perspective, technical expertise and a deep commitment to people.

Based at the Cummins Office Building in Columbus, Indiana, Gabriela serves as Product Manager for Embedded Software. In this role, she helps modernize how embedded software is developed and delivered, enabling teams to work more efficiently while strengthening the foundation for Cummins’ next generation of products and technologies.

Gabriela’s journey reflects a lifelong connection to learning and global collaboration. Growing up, she traveled extensively throughout Mexico and the United States with her family, experiences that sparked a curiosity about different cultures and ways of thinking. “That’s when I realized I wanted to work in a global environment,” she said. “Understanding people, perspectives and contexts has always mattered to me.”

She carried that curiosity into her education, studying Design at Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City, earning a master’s degree in Corporate Communication from Universidad Complutense in Madrid, and later completing an MBA at Indiana University. Along the way, she built deep expertise through certifications in marketing, localization and localization project management, as well as multiple Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) credentials. Executive education and leadership programs further shaped her approach to transformation, innovation and inclusive leadership.

Since joining Cummins in 2018, Gabriela has contributed across several strategic IT organizations, helping drive digital transformation and operational excellence. Today, her work in Embedded Software IT focuses on modernizing the embedded software factory—improving scalability, automation and reliability so teams can deliver high-quality software faster and more predictably.

“My role is about helping ideas become real,” Gabriela said. “When teams are aligned, supported and empowered, they can solve complex problems and create solutions that truly move the company forward.”

Embedded software plays a critical role in Cummins’ long-term strategy, supporting advanced power solutions, regulatory requirements and long product lifecycles. Gabriela’s work directly supports Destination Zero by enabling scalable, modern software platforms that accelerate the development of lower-carbon and zero-emissions technologies.

Just as important to Gabriela is how the work gets done. She is known for fostering inclusive, collaborative environments where diverse perspectives are encouraged and valued. “When people feel safe to contribute and are connected to a shared purpose, the outcomes are stronger—for the team and for the business,” she said.

That people-first mindset extends beyond her formal role. Gabriela is actively involved in the G.O.A.L (Grupo Organizado de Afinidad Latina) Employee Resource Group, where she leads Talent Development initiatives focused on inclusive growth, mentorship and opportunity. She also gives back locally through volunteer service, including ongoing involvement with the Bartholomew County Humane Society.
